Return, Refund & Warranty Policy – Solar Strength (Pty) Ltd

 At Solar-Strength, we are committed to providing quality products and service excellence. Please read our return, refund, and warranty policies carefully to understand your rights and obligations.

Returns
We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery. To be eligible for a return, your item must:

Be in its original, unused condition

Include all original packaging and tags

Be accompanied by the original invoice or proof of purchase

To initiate a return, please contact us at sales@solarstrength.co.za. Once your request is approved, you will receive return instructions and a shipping label (if applicable). All returns must be sent to:

Solar-Strength (Pty) Ltd is committed to providing quality products and service excellence. This policy explains our returns, refunds, exchanges, and warranty procedures in accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Google Merchant Center requirements.

1. Returns & Inspection

All returned products are inspected by our Sales and Technical Departments.

Returns will be declined if products show:
• Tampering, misuse, or incorrect installation
• Physical damage or negligence
• Missing or altered serial numbers

Products with mismatched serial numbers will not be accepted.

2. Return Eligibility (30 Days)

Customers may request a return within 30 days from the date of delivery or collection, provided the product:
• Is unused, unopened, and uninstalled
• Is in original condition
• Includes all original packaging, accessories, and labels
• Is accompanied by proof of purchase

Unapproved returns will not be accepted.

3. Opened, Used, or Installed Products
• Products that have been opened, used, or installed are not eligible for Out-of-Box Failure (OBF) claims.
• Inverters and similar equipment qualify for exchange only if unopened and factory-sealed.
• Broken or removed warranty seals void all return and warranty rights.
• Exceptions may be approved solely at management’s discretion.

4. Damaged or Incorrect Items

Customers must inspect goods upon receipt.
• Damaged or incorrect items must be reported within 7 working days of delivery or collection.
• Claims reported after this period will be handled under standard warranty procedures.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund:
• Custom-made or special-order products
• Clearance or sale items
• Gift cards
• Perishable goods
• Personal care items
• Hazardous or flammable materials

If unsure, please confirm eligibility before purchase.

6. Exchanges & Refunds (CPA-Compliant)

Exchanges

Approved returns may qualify for exchange, subject to inspection and stock availability.

Refunds

Refunds are provided only where required by law under the Consumer Protection Act or where approved by management.

For non-faulty items:
• A 10% handling fee may apply
• Courier costs are the responsibility of the customer

Refunds are processed to the original payment method.

7. Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days after inspection and final approval.

Please note:
• Banks and payment providers may take additional time to reflect the refund
• Processing delays beyond our control may occur

8. Courier & Return Shipping
• Customers are responsible for arranging and paying return courier costs
• If Solar-Strength arranges courier collection, a shipping fee will apply
• Solar-Strength is not liable for damage caused by third-party couriers, including solar panel breakage

9. Warranty Policy – Inverters & Batteries

All inverters and batteries must be installed by a qualified wireman or master electrician, registered with the Department of Labour.

Warranty claims must include:
• Clear photographs of the installation
• A valid Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC)
• Proof of installer qualification

Claims without this documentation will be declined, and repair costs will be for the customer’s account.

10. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• Power surges, lightning, over/under-voltage
• Water ingress, corrosion, condensation, or sea spray
• Dust, sand, insects, or environmental contamination
• Excessive heat or poor ventilation
• Incorrect installation or inadequate protection devices
• Tampering, broken seals, or poor maintenance
• Operation beyond manufacturer specifications
• Courier-related physical damage

11. Battery Usage Notice

Battery lifespan depends on correct usage:
• Lead-acid & gel batteries: Minimum 50% depth of discharge
• Lithium batteries: Full discharge permitted only with BMS protection

Capacity loss due to misuse is not covered under warranty.

12. Warranty Processing Time

Warranty assessments, repairs, or replacements take 7–30 working days, depending on the product and fault.
